Access to clean water is a basic requirement that contributes to a sense of security and stability essential for personal well-being. In Ingiriya, where our programmes thrive, abundant rainfall for much of the year is often offset by irregular weather patterns that bring droughts, making it difficult for residents and visitors to meet their basic water needs. To overcome this challenge, we launched a rainwater harvesting initiative, capturing, filtering, and storing rainwater from building roofs to ensure a sustainable water supply for all residents in our programmes. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Lanka Rainwater Harvesting Forum and is generously sponsored by the NextWorldNow Community.
